Like me, have you ever received email invitations like these?

"> I am using Linked-in to keep up with my professional contacts and support them with introductions. Since you‘re one of many people I recommend, I wanted to ask you to gain access to my system o-n LinkedIn.

I have received more than 35 announcements such as this, worded almost exactly the same way. If you have an opinion about video, you will perhaps wish to read about learn about https://crunchbase.com/person/lisa-bushon/. The senders have acted surprised and hurt that I didn‘t jump to benefit from this request.

Let‘s look at the issues in this invitation from a marketing standpoint.

* Almost all of the invitations I received were from individuals whose names I didn‘t understand. To get a different interpretation, consider taking a gander at: analyze https://www.github.com/lisabushonknoxville. Why would I wish to be part of their community? The request does not say who they are, who they‘ve use of and how I‘d take advantage of their community.

* What‘s Linked In, how can it work and what‘re the benefits of using it? No body has yet explained this clearly within their request. You can‘t expect that some-one receiving this invitation knows what you‘re asking them to participate or how it would be advantageous to them. It‘d be useful to have a passage or two describing how it works and mentioning a particular result anyone behind the invitation experienced from membership. It could be that people believe that since ‘basic membership is free,‘ the conventional recipient of this request will proceed and join. But even though it can not charge money, time would be taken by joining. You still need to ‘sell‘ people on taking a free action, specially with respect to a task or organization that may be different for them.

* Nobody got some time to head off possible misunderstandings or objections for this account. As I am concerned that joining would open me up to large amount of mail and telephone calls that would spend my time and in which I would have no interest, a non-member of Linked-in. Again, you can‘t assume that some thing free is thus enticing; you should imagine why some-one may have doubts or dismiss the theory and handle those arguments.

* Using a processed invitation that‘s almost the exact same as everyone else‘s doesn‘t make a good effect. Clicking here maybe provides tips you might use with your friend. You‘d want to give your personal stamp to it, even if the written text provided by Linked In were powerful, which it is not.

Besides being irritated that they‘re apparently encouraging people to send announcements that make little sense, I have nothing against Linked In. Perhaps it‘s an useful organization. My position is that its members should use good sense and basic marketing maxims to promote active, cynical individuals to give it an opportunity..
